The “Trek” team has renewed half of its group, which will take part in the “Tour de France” tournament starting on Friday, where the leader is the former Danish world champion Mads Pedersen. Pedersen (26), whose rainbow title dates back to 2019, has never won a tour, unlike his three teammates, Italian Julio Chiccone, Frenchman Tony Gallopen and Dutchman Bauke Molema.
Young American Quinn Simmons, 21, will make her Grande Boucle debut at the Strade Bianche (7th) and the recent Tour de Suisse. Mollema, Pedersen, Latvia’s Thoms Scujins and Belgium’s Jasper Stuyven are all in the group from last year.
