The 46-year-old coach of “Inter” Milan Simone Inzaghi has extended his contract for one year until June 2024, the “Neradzuro” club announced on Tuesday.
“Inter” is happy to announce the extension of Simone Inzaghi’s contract. Until 2024, he posted on his website photos of the coach who initialed the document with President Steven Zhang.
Arriving at Inter Milan a year ago to replace Antonio Conte, Inzaghi won two titles in his first season: the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup, both at the expense of Turin’s Juventus.
But in Serie A, he had to settle for second place as reigning champions Inter beat AC Milan in the final sprint.
In his honor, Inzaghi also successfully campaigned for the Champions League, as a result of which the “Nerazzurri” reached the knockout stage for the first time in ten years, being left out of “Liverpool” (0-2, 1-0).
Prior to Inter, Inzaghi coached Lazio for just five years (2016-2021), a club where he spent most of his career as a player, especially winning the league title on the pitch (2000).
Despite the policy of budget tightness, which was introduced a year ago by the Chinese group Sun, the owner of Inter, Neradzuro club is active in the transfer market. In particular, he may soon conclude the arrival of Belgian Romelu Lukaku, who left Chelsea a year ago, and signed a contract with Argentine Paulo Dybala, who was left free from Juventus.
