Prime Minister Betsy Chavez sent an official letter to all parliamentary benches calling them to a workshop to “build bridges” between Executive and Legislative. A day after the presentation of the third vacancy proposal against President Pedro Castillo, the head of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers (PCM) is seeking to establish a dialogue between both branches of government.
“In order to initiate a democratic dialogue that allows building bridges, for the sake of respect for the constitutional rule of law, democratic institutions and the separation of powers, I invite you to hold a coordination and working meeting”, reads a document sent by the Prime Minister to the press secretary.
As a reminder, after a vacancy proposal put forward by a non-group member of parliament, Edward Malaga, was accepted for consideration, the Council of Congressional Spokesmen agreed that the plenary meeting will take place this Thursday, December 1, starting at 18: 00, mixed mode for attending this order.
“At the said meeting, the issue of accepting the application for the Presidency of the Republic, requested by Ordinance of the Day 4904, will be discussed for the reasons provided for in subsection 2) of Article 113 of the Political Constitution of Peru. ”, the document sent to all legislators says.
OAS High Level Panel to report to Permanent Council this Thursday
Meanwhile, on the same day that the application for the vacancy is accepted, the High Level Panel appointed by the Permanent Council of the OAS will report on report on the political situation in Peru Permanent Council of the said organization.
Previously, representatives of the OAS have already called on political actors for dialogue while working on a report based on information collected during their visit to our country.
