Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson largely ignored the explosions on Tuesday Jan.6 during a hearing of the committee selected by the House, and instead attacked late-night presenter Stephen Colbert.
Colbert’s team was arrested Thursday in a congressional office building and Carlson called the trick an “attack on democracy.”
Carlson, who said the record was a “riot” and “exactly like Jan. 6” on Friday, asked why the Late Show crew didn’t see similar results compared to the rebels who attempted to overthrow it. The 2020 presidential election saw an attack on the U.S. Capitol as Congress rallied to confirm the vote.
CBS, In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter Last week, the seven -member crew – a group that includes Robert Smigel, the voice of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog – said they were there for “licensed and organized” interviews and , then the final interview was in theaters for Continua. Shoot them before they are arrested.
Carlson said in an episode of his show on Tuesday that the crew’s goal was to “interfere”, “harass MPs” and “disrupt” congressional activities in the building. Reported by the mediate.
“All seven were charged with illegal entry,” Carlson said.
“This is the same charge for which hundreds of people were prosecuted on Jan. 6. But unlike the case on Jan. 6, Colbert’s staff did not send him to a Washington jail for a year and half imprisoned. No, they were released behind bars one night later and then fled back to New York. “Because?”
Carlson also asked if what Colbert’s staff did was “different” from what the rebels did on January 6, 2021.
His line of investigation also peeked into the comedic side of Colbert’s troupe, especially Smigel.
Carlson joked that the man standing at the foot of Nancy Pelosi’s chamber speaker at the table was more fun than the sound of a famous dog doll.
“You’re right, not even close. “The boy was happier at the Pelos table than the talking dog,” Carlson said.

Colbert asked people on his show Monday comparing him to his staff and rebels.
He said comparing his staff, including the actions of a “tobacco-stained” dog, to those attacking the Capitol was an “embarrassing and frightening insult” to the people killed in the attack.
“And that obscenely detracts from the service and courage shown by the Capitol police on that horrible day.”
You can hear Colbert talking about his staff being arrested for “first rate dolls”.
