According to a new poll released Sunday, nearly six in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be accused of involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
ABC / Ipsos News Conclusions The poll showed very little increase in support for the prosecution of Trump since televised hearings of a House-selected committee investigating the uprising began.
A new poll conducted on June 17 and 18 showed that 58% of respondents believe Trump should be blamed for his role. A poll conducted by ABC News / Washington Post in April found that 52% of respondents think the same way.
The Latest Poll He also found that 58% of Americans believe Trump was “a big deal” or “somewhat” responsible for the events of January 6 last year. Another 17% believe Trump is “simply” responsible.
The poll showed 60% believe the House select committee on Jan. 6 was conducting a “fair and impartial” investigation.
But only 33% of respondents said they watch panel hearings “clearly” or “very” carefully.
The survey was based on a nationally representative probability sample of 545 young people aged 18 and over. The sampling margin of error is plus-minus 4.5 percentage points.
