“The verdict is absolutely unfair, and therefore we are convinced that it will be overturned in the second instance. Of course (we are going to appeal) Daniel Urresti is calm because he is aware of all the shortcomings that the sentence was passed and that it will be overturned,” he said in press statements.
The lawyer stressed that Daniel Urresty undergo appropriate control be transferred to prisonbut still calm.
“He was completely surprised by the verdict, but generally calm enough that it would be overturned. Now he should be transferred to legal medicine so that he can pass the legal exams, then he will be transferred to the prison of the judiciary,” he added.
Leiva that the arguments brought by the Criminal Chamber to distort the defense of Urresti in connection with the death of Bustios have neither a factual nor evidentiary basis, and therefore they will submit an appeal already this Thursday.
