Toledo’s appeal must be upheld within 14 days, the time his lawyers will use to prepare his defense, criminal defense attorney Andy Carrion said.
“This means that the judges under the North American system expect him to uphold this challenge, that is, the appeal for reconsideration, so that it is finally assessed by the authorities (…). He has these 14 days to state that the reasons why he believes that he should not be extradited to Peru and why this procedure should be suspended,” he said.
