The Peruvian government is close to granting permits to the company to explore for lithium. Makusani Yellow Pie for them to start their drilling work, Energy and Mines Minister Oscar Vera announced on Monday.
At a press conference with the Association of Foreign Press in Peru (APEP), Vera said that “every effort is being made to start drilling as soon as possible” in the southern region of Puno, bordering Bolivian.
Vera clarified that the Peruvian government “is going to complete the issuance of permits for the development of lithium” in the next two months.
In this sense, he added that the company must make sure that the volumes are sufficient for operation.
In addition, Vera announced that “our lithium does not seem to contain uranium and it would be much easier for us” to operate it without attaching a contaminant element to it.
