This Tuesday March 4th Congress rejected admission to the discussion of the offer of a vacancy due to the moral incapacity of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte.
After the vote of parliamentarians, the President Council of MinistersAlberto Otarola stressed the decision of the plenum
“Thank you to the democratic forces that are on the same wavelength with the whole country, with 33 million Peruvians who want peace, tranquility, development and emergency assistance. We immediately return to Lima to meet with other ministers and continue to support our brothers in the north who are suffering from the hardships of the emergency,” said the premier from Satipo (Junin).
Similarly, Otarola assured that the request for a vacancy against Dina Boluarte is distracting the executive branch from its work to help areas that are in an emergency due to persistent rains.
“The government must work, and this kind of job offers only divert the efforts of the Parliament itself. We therefore salute the democratic maturity of the forces that prevented such an incoherent initiative from flourishing,” he said.
Vacancy request against Dinah Boluarte rejected by Congress
With 37 votes in favor, 64 against and 10 abstentions, Parliament rejected a new request for a vacancy against the President of the Republic. Dina Boluarteafter discussion for about an hour.
The proposal was signed by the bench leaders Peru Libre, Peru Democrático and Cambio Democrático, who sought the president’s resignation. The job application document mentioned Boluarte’s departure from Executive for moral incompetence. This is holding the president responsible for more than 40 civilian deaths recorded during the social protests that took place between December 2022 and January 2023 after Pedro Castillo’s departure from the palace.
