The Congressional Oversight Commission invited the current Minister of the Interior, Vicente Romero; Jorge Hernandez Fernandez, known as “El Espanyol”; former head of the ministry Dmitry Senmashe; and former presidential adviser Henry Shimabukuro at a meeting this Wednesday, Jan. 29.
The reason for the call is “an investigation into alleged violations and external interference in the Peruvian National Police and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as alleged actions to create a parallel intelligence service during the administration of former President José Pedro Castillo Terrones.”
Earlier, the chairman of the aforementioned parliamentary working group, Hector Ventura, clarified that, according to El Español statements, the goal was to protect Fray Vasquez, the fugitive nephew of former President Castillo.
“The statement made by Jorge Hernandez (known as ‘El Espanyol’) is that he has received the consent of the high command of the national police to protect the President’s nephew (Pedro Castillo),” he said in RPP statements.
As for the rest of the guests, he mentioned that “all these characters would articulate promotions in the National Police and not only that, but also attempts on the lives of officials such as the National Prosecutor.”
Summons to Dine Boluarte ‘to be determined at convenience’
On the other side, Luck clarified that the possible challenge of President Dina Boluarte is still under consideration, as a decision will be made when “there is suitable as a research strategy.”
“If, according to the research development strategy, it is considered appropriate to call the president or, otherwise, we go to the Government Palace, we have these powers, the president, being objective and transparent, will have to receive us” is mentioned in La Rotativa del Aire Night Edition.
