It was the proposal for the final report, approved by the Congressional Subcommittee on Constitutional Charges, that was supported by the Congressman from People’s Action. Wilson Sotoas a delegate to the constitutional denunciation 328. The parliamentarian stressed that he had the testimony of those involved and witnesses.
“We took arguments from the witnesses who came. The statement of the Channel 7 reporters and all the actions that were taken were vital. As a delegate, I was extremely responsible, we made a convincing report, which therefore was approved yesterday by 18 votes, and this will be transferred to the Standing Committee,” he said.
In an interview with RPP News, Wilson Soto remembered that when Betsy Chavez went to the Subcommittee on Congressional Constitutional Charges, stated that he did not know the intentions of the then President Pedro Castillodespite the fact that a video was recently released showing her making preparations before addressing the nation.
“(In video) gestures Pedro Castillo, he knew perfectly well and the people who accompanied him knew; however, when the witnesses came, they denied everything, washed their hands. We can’t get past the sun with one finger, the report we’ve made is compelling, the proof of that is that 18 congressmen voted yes,” he said.
“(On the video) you can clearly see what agreements he made Betsy Chavez and above all the statements of the reporter who was there the whole time. They knew everything that was going to happen (…) There are facts, I’m not trying. As delegated congressman on this complaint, I did not act out of political revenge, I was impartial and objective,” he added.
