Education Minister Oscar Becerra confirmed this Friday that there are no “legal arguments” for registration teachers’ strike at the national level, in a context in which it was warned that teachers affiliated with the National Federation of Educators of Peru (Fenate-Peru) would observe a series of mobilizations a few days after the start of school hours.

In a statement released on February 24, the Unitary Union of Educational Workers of Peru (Sutep) warned that Fenat sought to promote national strike from March 1st.

IN News ExtensionHe owner Minedu said that Fenat, whose formalization took place after the swearing in of Pedro Castillo as president, has not yet announced an official mobilization. But, he insisted, the mobilization warnings represented a “desperate attempt” by the union to “reclaim its prominence.”

“Which Fenat makes a desperate attempt to regain the fame she doesn’t have by playing with the aspirations of the teachers and the future of the children. They haven’t officially announced anything, and I hope it’s not. draw report it when payrolls are closed to go on strike and get paid,” he said.

He Minister of education confirmed that the 2022 collective bargaining dealt with the claims made by the majority of the teachers’ unions, which is SUTEP, for this reason he insisted that there should not be solid arguments that justify the mobilization of the teaching profession.

“Teacher unions – as rightly pointed out by the general secretary of SUTEP, which is the union of the majority and which, according to the norm, represents teachers in collective bargaining – achieved everything that was proposed in collective bargaining in 2022; Then no legal argument call a strike of teachers,” he said.

So, calf reported that his sector completed the delivery bonus 950 soles throughout the country between January and February, with the exception of Lima, where distribution will begin in the middle of this month.

Teachers participating in a possible mobilization will not be paid.

Next time, cabinet minister announced that teachers who observe possible mobilization from March 13resumption date because the strike “would be illegal.”

“A teacher who goes on strike from the 13th will not be paid. [de marzo]because this strike will be illegal because they [maestros] They received and received everything they agreed on in the 2022 collective agreement,” he said.

“There is no argument in favor of a strike [de maestros] that it has nothing to do with political demands, which have absolutely nothing to do with education,” he said.
