The court annulled the appointment Ruth Benavidez Vargassister of National Attorney Patricia Benavidez, as Comptroller Magistrate Office of Master’s Control this state power. According to the head of OSMAPZH, the decline is due to personal reasons.
“Official No. 092-2023-J-OCMA/PJ issued by the Head of Control Office of the Magistracy of the Judiciary (…), decides: to annul Current Ordinance No. 000160-2023-P-CE-PJ appointing Ms. Rosa Ruth Benavidez Vargas, Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Callao, Comptroller Magistrate of the Judicial Magistracy Control Office,” reads the document.
Who is Ruth Benavidez?
Ruth Benavidez, sister of the national prosecutor, became President of the High Court of Callao in 2019, replacing Walter Rios. This is after the details of the case called “White necks of the port” became known.
According to a report published by IDL-Reporteros, Ruth Benavidez was investigated by prosecutor Bersabet Revilla in connection with the alleged illegal employment of 242 workers for the Supreme Court of Callao. The events were supposed to take place between 2019 and 2020.
