Senator Kirsten Gilbrand intends to draft a bill this week that shows the Supreme Court repealing a plan against Rowe Wade and urging gay men to think about what the United States would be like without the right to abort for pregnant women.
“I want to talk to American men for a moment,” the Democrat said at a news conference in New York on Thursday. “Imagine that there is no authority over your own body for 10 months.” Imagine that this decision will be canceled even if you die in childbirth, even if you can’t decide who to have children with, even if you can’t decide when you will have this baby. “
“I don’t think a man in America really thought he had no control over his body, over his body, what’s going on with him and what life will be like in 10 months.”

The senator’s outrage came days after the Supreme Court’s majority conclusion project, Conservative justice author Samuel Alito said the Supreme Court would overturn a decade-old ruling making abortion a constitutional right. An effective decision is expected in June, but republican-led states have begun denying access to abortion, and some have even made it criminal.
“It is annoying that we have five Supreme Court judges who lied, lied at confirmation hearings to prove themselves. “It’s annoying that our judiciary in America today is so corrupt and politicized that it no longer represents the will of the people.” “Five judges said they respect the precedent, five said they set the precedent against Rowe Wade, five said they would never break the precedent. “This decision will not be fair to the American people.”
In Congress, Democrats tried to pass a women’s health bill to codify into federal law against Rowe Wade. The original bill failed due to a lack of votes – and while removing Philibaster could do the job, enough lawmakers, including elected Democrats, refused to support the move.
On Tuesday night, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) announced an updated version of the bill in a desperate attempt to protect the right to abortion. The new version of the bill does not contain the legislative conclusions that form an important context behind the bill, but the bill is likely to fail when it is voted on by the Senate next Tuesday.
“I don’t think we should tell 50 percent of Americans that they should risk life or death without their consent,” Gilbrand said, calling it “barbaric,” “inhumane,” and “unacceptable— acceptable. ”
“I hope everyone in this country understands that when a woman is denied the right to make decisions about her health and welfare, she is no longer a full citizen. “He no longer has freedom, he no longer has body autonomy, he no longer has basic civil rights or civil liberties,” he continued. “This is what this decision will do to America today. … It is a time of life or death and we have to fight for what it is ”.
