Representative of the bench of the National Renaissance, Jorge Montoyasaid this Wednesday that he is opposed to amending the Constitution in order to advance the general elections, as the popular mandate must be fulfilled and the efforts of the President of the Republic and the Congress completed in 2026.

talking to Rotary ethereal night edition The RPP Noticias legislator felt that advancing the elections would only paralyze the country due to uncertainty about who would be the candidates and the winner of the process. Likewise, he said that citizens do not ask for it, but rather want stability so that their lives can continue normally.

“I am against moving forward with the elections, so we will vote against it, we believe that we should not go against ConstitutionThis is contrary to the Constitution and wrong in a democracy,” he said.

“(Boluarte should stay) until 2026, from my point of view, unless he makes a serious mistake, because of which he is fired or released, or she resigns,” he added.

On the possibilities of the right in the next elections

The parliamentarian also said that he did not believe in the chances of the victory of political groups with right-wing ideology in a possible scenario of general elections. According to him, at present there are no parties of this ideology that are consolidated or have a strong candidate.

“What are the chances for the right to win? I see them as very low on this issue, that is, it is not united, it is divided, there are no consolidated parties for this,” the deputy said.

In this regard, Montoya stated that he was against the position people power seek to promote elections. He clarified that if this bench has established this position, it is because they are interested in placing the candidate.

The legislator reiterated his position regarding the advancement of the elections and compared his administration to military service, as he said that in both cases a service to the nation is rendered, which must be performed in full.
