Minister of Labor and Employment PromotionAlfonso Adriansen, noted that before the announcement of various protesters to gather in the capital, this Thursday, January 19, companies need to make some forecasts. Therefore, he asked employers to provide conditions for remote work.
“From the Department of Labor and Employment Promotion, We want to encourage employers to make it easier for their employees to work remotely over the next 24 hours.. This is in the sense that tomorrow, Thursday, there will be some demonstrations, and we are not sure whether actions that could escalate into acts of violence will continue. We are asking the country for calm, but we are also asking for production, productivity, employment, people’s right to work,” he told the press.
Recall that the concentration of demonstrators in the capital, called “Thomas de Lima”, is a response to protests demanding the resignation of President Dina Boluarte and the closure of Congress.
“We don’t want more deaths, we don’t want more injuries”
For his part, Interior Minister Vicente Romero asked the demonstrators to keep the protests peaceful, as the executive branch does not want more dead citizens.
“We will ensure the safety of all those people who come out to protest. Compatriots who do not come out to protest, just keep calm. To those who come out to protest, my recommendation is to follow the law. comply with the safety measures taken. We don’t want more dead, we don’t want more injured. No more blood, no more grieving families in Peru. We don’t want more pain,” he said.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Rosa Gutierrez demanded that roads be cleared to allow medical personnel to pass. “It’s important that our paths are clear. We cannot afford another death. We cannot see that our link and counter link are blocked. Caring for a person, about life, is important for the Ministry of Health,” he concluded.
