The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) has ordered that as of today, Thursday, citizens across the country two hour tolerance entrance to their workplaces.
This measure is a response to the announcement of protests by citizens in various regions of the country against the government and Congress; thereby, PETM provides for actions “obstructing the free movement and safety of workers”
“In the event that they have to visit their work centers, people affected by the lack of public transportation will have a two (2) hour pass in their office hours”, the ministry said.
In addition, it states that the aforementioned delay “without reason” will be considered “being late for no good reason subject to disciplinary action.”
Compensation by agreement of the parties
PETM provided that the two-hour delay is subject to compensation subsequent “prior agreement of the parties”. In addition, in the absence of an agreement, the decision on compensation is made by the employer.
The ministry also urged employers to prioritize remote work “for the purpose of protecting the inviolability of workers.”
