Monsignor Carlos Castillo presided over the mass and tedeum in honor of the 488th anniversary of the founding of the city of Lima, in which various authorities participated. During the sermon Barreto clarified that Jesus puts man above the law. This is part of the protests demanding the resignation of President Dina Boluarte and the closure of Congress.
“We must put ourselves at the service of human, concrete people, especially those who suffer the most. Jesus Divides Those Who Think It’s the Law That Matters, Not the Man. And that’s why he uses his power to change the spotlight and help us. But, secondly, Jesus questions questions. It makes us think and reflect,” he said during the ceremony.
“What do the so-called divine laws allow? Death or life of people? They should allow life, right?”
It should be noted that the ceremony was attended by President Dina Boluarte; Mayor of Lima Rafael López Allaga; congressional holder Jose Williams; and some other parliamentarians.
“How much harm corruption does to our Latin American peoples”
Elsewhere, Monsignor Carlos Castillo indicated that the authorities should be alert to possible situations of corruption. In the same way, he viewed this problem as a social virus, affecting primarily the less fortunate.
“Five years ago, the Holy Father (Pope Francis), visiting us, told us that we must strengthen our hope. And he made two important points: first, the problem of corruption. To defend hope, one must be very attentive to another form, often hidden, of environmental degradation that gradually infects the entire fabric of life: corruption.no. What harm is this social virus doing to our Latin American peoples and the democracies of this blessed continent, a phenomenon that infects everything, with the poor and Mother Earth suffering the most,” he concluded.
