Frank Figlusi, the FBI’s former deputy director of counterintelligence, fired Tucker Carlson this week for pro-Russian talks on his prime-time Fox News program.
Speaking on the PAC Really American’s “Talking Heads” program, Figliuzi said the spread of Kremlin propaganda in Carlson’s air before and during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “surpassed free speech.”
Recently, Carlson suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conduct an audit before the United States sends additional aid to the country.
“I swore when I became an FBI agent to preserve, protect and defend the constitution,” Figluci said. “It means I’m willing to risk my life for one like Tucker Carlson’s free speech.”
But Putin commits war crimes and terrorism in Ukraine, and “those who help and support him are contributing to terrorism,” he said.
In a video clip of Carlson’s comment released by the Russian state media, Figlusi said: “You have to stop and say, for a moment, that this is no longer free speech. This is the deliberate use of our people by the enemy against us ”.
