Members of the Swedish royal family are helping Ukrainians come to their country seeking asylum from the Russian war.
In Sweden, Princess Sofia took part in a special Easter service in honor of the Ukrainians. The corresponding footage appeared on the family’s Instagram page.
It was noticed that King Carl Gustav opened the Royal Chapel of Stockholm Palace for the Orthodox Easter service. Princess Sofia greeted the guests there.
It is known that more than 400 Ukrainians took part in the service. The liturgy began with greetings from Princess Sofia and Pastor Michael Bjerhagen. After that, the service was led by Ukrainian Orthodox priest Kirill Govorun.
At the end of the event, Bjerhagen read the 30th psalm, which is read daily in Ukraine and in churches around the world after the massive invasion of the Russian Federation. The parishioners also sang a peace prayer Tebje Pajom – Give us peace.
Participants were treated to Ukrainian Easter, and children were given Easter eggs.
It will be recalled that, earlier, First Lady Elena Zelenskaya said that Ukraine would not give up its children in the war.
