The actor spoke about the surprise of being nominated and the repercussion of Pantanal across the country
Silvero Pereira is still reaping the fruits of his labor in Pantanal, which had its last episode aired on October 7, and was nominated for the Best of the Year for his portrayal of Zaquieu in the plot. In an interview, the actor revealed he was surprised by the nomination.
“For me, I don’t think it’s over yet because we’re still in such close contact, right? With everyone in the cast. We try to meet all the time. When we’re in Rio, we always schedule dinner, a private party. Still we celebrate everything that is happening in the streets, too.”, said.
“I had the pleasant news of the nomination. It’s something I didn’t expect. It’s a huge cast of incredible wonderful people, and my character came in well after the soap opera. I really didn’t believe that this would be possible. But I understand that it shows how charismatic the character was, and the audience embraced it.”, said.
“Alongside Juliano, who was my great partner in the scene, I can only thank him for this moment. Zaquieu from the first version was extremely cartoonish. And he was successful precisely because he was comic and cartoonish, and my great challenge was to bring another image of this character.”, said.
“It wasn’t meant to be funny, because in the past that funny thing was what brought even more prejudice. The goal this time was to bring depth and drama, a dramatic curve that would make people fall in love with the character. Because he is made of real feelings , has the desire to be respected in that environment.”, continued.
“I think it was at this point that the public really got involved and embarked on the story. Whenever I go out on the streets, people speak with great affection”, finished.
