The soloist of the Ukrainian indie rock band, after the loss of a loved one, remembered the rules that help prevent accidents.
Ukrainian singer, leader of the group Vivienne Mort Daniela Zayushkina admitted that due to non-compliance with safety requirements during the operation of the generator, a person close to her died. He announced it on Instagram.
As the artist noted, this is not an isolated case of carbon monoxide poisoning when using a home generator.
“In recent days, I have learned about many cases of carbon monoxide poisoning while using a generator at home. In one village, two families fell asleep and did not wake up because they did not know or did not follow the safety rules when using of a generator. Also, someone close to me died for this reason” he wrote.
So, Daniela Zayushkina published five rules that will help save lives while using the generator:
-
The generator must be outside.
-
The generator should be located at least six meters from the windows.
-
Refuel the generator only in the open air.
-
Gasoline or diesel must be kept in the generator as it can cause a fire.
-
The generator itself during operation should not touch the walls, other objects – this can cause a fire.
