In times of war, it is important to be attentive to one’s own problems and not tolerate bullying, he said.
The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska addressed her fellow citizens on the occasion of the launch of 16 days of global activism against gender-based violence. He posted the video on Instagram.
The President’s wife recalled the problem of gender-based violence in our country. He emphasized that we should not turn a blind eye to this, despite the fact that now there is a war.
“War hardens us, perseveres, endures. We get used to daily problems, air raids, get used to making difficult decisions… But there is something that cannot be endured even in time of war. Especially during war. This is the time when brutality and violence spread easily. But worst of all, you get used to it as if it’s necessary. But it’s a trap for all of us. Can’t get used to violence, it can’t be tolerated in under the guise of war. On the contrary, it is during war that one must be many times more attentive to the needs of others, even people who are completely unfamiliar to us, in their lack of hope,” said Zelenskaya.
He noted that in times of war it is important to be attentive to one’s own problems and not tolerate intimidation.
“You can’t turn a blind eye to what hurts. Again, war is no excuse for everyday evil,” added the first lady.
Zelenska recalled that on Friday, November 25, 16 days of global activism against gender-based violence will begin.
“In 60 cities and communities of Ukraine, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund, the governments of Ukraine, Great Britain, Canada and the United States, unusual mosaics appear: when those who want to take a piece of such -install for themselves , they symbolically destroy violence, and the slogan Responsiveness defeats violence emerges from under the stones “It seems like simple words, but that’s exactly what they are: we are humane. We are responsive. Every day the war tests us for loyalty to these principles. And we will certainly defend them,” the first lady summed up.
