You must show your credentials to enter Christine Nagel’s office. Only she and her assistant Richard have the key to this huge plateau, which they share on the ninth and top floor of a building on rue Penthivre in the heart of Paris (headquarters of Hermès’ beauty and perfume business).
The view from the terrace is stunning. The Eiffel Tower and Grand Palais on one side, Saint-Augustin, Montmartre, Sacre-Coeur and the blades of the Moulin de la Galette on the other. “Since coming here a few months ago, I’ve dreamed of installing a spyglass, but for now I’m content to watch the hidden gardens flourish on the surrounding terraces.”
