The new Leapmotor B05 is a more compact and sports alternative to the older B10 model, focusing on young consumers.
In IAA mobility in Munich, the Chinese leapmotor company, who receives strong support from Stellantis’ remembrance, has introduced the new B05 electric hatchback. The model is positioned as a direct competitor Volkswagen ID.3 and MG4.
The debut version in bright yellow shows a sporting, modern design. This is less and more dynamic -new than the leapmotor B10 crossover, but based on the same LEAP3.5 platform.
B05 dimensions are 4430 × 1880 × 1520 mm with a wheel of 2735 mm. Despite the lower profile, he promised a spacious interior. Installation of Power -an electric motor with a capacity of 215 hp. and 240 nm. Two options for batteries are expected: 56.2 and 67.1 kW · h. For the B10 crossover, the senior battery provides up to 434 km WLTP, so that the lighter B05 can show a better result.
The hatchback received frameless doors, dark headlights, combined with a thin stripe, and the LED panel for the entire width of the rear. The concept is equipped with a 19-inches black disc, and by 2026 there will be an ultra version with more aggressive aerodynamic elements.
Stellantis directly participated in the chassis settings – the car received a balanced weight distribution of 50:50 and a multi -leaf rear suspension characteristic of more expensive models. The interior has not been shown, but it is known that it will receive a large middle display at Snapdragon 8155 with the LEAP OS 4.0 Plus OS.
The price has not been announced, but the B05 should be cheaper than the B10, which in Europe starts from € 29,900. According to preliminary estimates, the starting price is about € 25,000, which will allow us to seriously compete with the Volkswagen ID.3 (€ 3330 in Germany).
Remember, Leapmotor B10 officially filed in Europe in August. Meanwhile, Volkswagen is already selling one and a half million electric vehicles.
