The new thing in California works exclusively with solar energy thanks to Tesla Megapack batteries.
Tesla launched the first completely autonomous oasis supercharger charging station in Kaliforni, which does not require connection to mains. According to Electk, thanks to solar panels and the megapack energy accumulation system, the station provides electric vehicles to charge, regardless of external electricity sources.
The construction of the station began last year, and now half of the 168 charging posts have been assigned. The rest should earn before the end of the year. All energy comes from a solar power plant with a capacity of 11 MW, and the supply to the batteries is 39 MW, allowing drivers to serve at night or in cloudy weather.
The project is amazing by its scale: solar panels cover a significant place, which is seen in the picture published by Tesla. In these volumes, the station is one of the largest not only in the supercharger network, but also in autonomous charging hubs worldwide.
Despite the ambition, the project’s economic ability has not been evaluated. However, it is California which is a fine place for such an experiment: a large number of sunny days, a high density of electric vehicles and developed infrastructure has created conditions for successful operation.
Currently, Tesla plans to produce such a “oases” part of its global approach, making the environment independent, friendly and stable things in the future.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that Tesla said it affects the breakdown of batteries in DE -Electric Cars.
