Chinese manufacturers work in this direction: the largest manufacturer of CATL batteries, including the NIO, plan to standardize a 15-year battery guarantee with a permitted removal of a capacity of up to 15%. Some of the latest CATL products have already been provided with a guarantee of 12, 15 and even 20 years, but this applies to energy storing devices.
Tesla, on the other hand, has almost completed the construction of its own factory for the manufacture of LFP batteries in the United States, the equipment provided by the CATL. Thanks to the lower cost of such elements, Tesla may increase the warranty period for batteries for future models in the American market.
