The star “Sex in the Big City” first commented on a scandal that came from a book on the Russian opposition, which he saw on the set.

American actress Sarah Jessica Parker, star of the “Sex and the City” cult series, first commented on the situation around Russia’s opposition memoirs Alexei Navalny, who she noticed in the fall of 2024 on the set “and like that.”

The cover of the book “Patriot” describes a picture of Navalny, which drives a wave of discussions on social networks and media.

After a few months of silence, Parker said in an interview with Polish publication Wysokie Obcasy that he had no intention of showing any political position:

“I bought this book for myself. I wanted to read this book and ordered it early because I waited. I knew this book would be published under the name, and I tried to read about the rest as much as possible. I tried to pay attention to Eastern Europe, as well as west, and clearly that his history played a major role in East European politics, I remember something like, expressed by the actress.

Parker emphasized: His interest was exclusively personal and giving. He had no intention of making any statements – just to recognize the story, which, according to him, “things in the global context.”

It is noteworthy that the figure of Alexei Navalny is causing conflicting reactions to the international arena. Despite opposition to Putin’s regime, he did not condemn Crimea’s integration and the crimes of the Russian War in Ukraine, which led to criticism from the Ukrainian and West society.
