Ukrainian singer, leader of the group Okean Elzy Svyatoslav Vakarchuk showed the world the consequences of the brutal actions of the Russian occupiers in Borodyanka, Kiev region. He posted the corresponding video on Instagram.
The painter captured the center of town. He appeared near the monument to Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko. The monument was shot in the head by Russian troops. Footage also shows completely destroyed and burned tall buildings.
“Behind me are the houses of the village of Borodyanka that were destroyed by the horrific airstrikes of Russia. Now it seems that life here has stopped and ended. There are still people in the ruins who have not been pulled out. It is impossible to describe the this feeling.. It seems that the devil himself came to do your horrible deed. But even now life is starting to come back here, “Vakarchuk said.
He also spoke to two local residents he met in the liberated city and stressed that their optimism, despite everything they have experienced, proves the strength and faith of the Ukrainian people.
“We’ll rebuild everything. We won’t forget anything. And we won’t forgive,” Vakarchuk concluded.
