Celebrated this Monday, 31, and created by Rachel Crandall, Executive Director of the Transgender Michigan Movement in 2009, International Trans Visibility Day has the objective to praise the achievements of the transgender population over the years. The date is also to arouse attention to the claims made by this group, promoting inclusion and requesting rights.

Poison (2020) – Available at Max, the film was produced to honor the trajectory of Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez Known as “La Poison”, icon of the LGBTQIA+ community in Spain. The series portrays the artist’s life under the eyes of journalism student Valeria who seeks to understand gender identity itself while writing a book portraying the story of poison.

Alice Junior (2019) – Available at Prime Video and Telecine, the feature narrates the trajectory of young trans and youtuber Alice, who, after moving with his father to a more conservative city, facing prejudice while seeking to affirm his identity.

Pose (2018 – 2021) – Available at Disney Plus, the series explores the Ballroom scenario, plunging into the LGBTQIA+ scene in New York between the 1980s and 1990s. Highlighting dancers and models while competing for trophies and supports themselves to withstand the injuries of the time. With the production, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez She became the first trans woman to win the best actress in a dramatic series in 2022.

A fantastic woman (2017) – Available on Netflix, the feature features Mariana, a transsexual waitress who dreams of being a successful singer. However, the sudden loss of her boyfriend makes the young woman have to face prejudice when questioned by her former partner’s authorities and relatives about the authenticity of their relationship.
