Hundreds -Stars have signed an open appeal to the White House, which is asked not to weaken copyrights for AI teaching.

More than 400 celebrities and film industry representatives have signed an open appeal to the US administration.

They ask not to allow Openai and Google to use copyright -protected materials to teach artificial intelligence.

In a letter, sent to the White House and received by Thewrap, the signatures emphasized that the changes suggested by companies would “operate free of the creative and scientific industry of America, despite the billions of income of these corporations.”

Openai and Google had previously demonstrated Biden’s administrations their ideas for the development of American artificial intelligence. Openai, in particular, said that “more copyright laws will contribute to the freedom of training and strengthening the national security of the United States,” and will also help maintain a technological advantage in China.

However, the stars and industry numbers do not agree with this method.

“We are strongly convinced that the US leadership in the field of artificial intelligence should not be achieved at the expense of our creative industries,” the appeal said.

The letter emphasizes that the artistic and entertainment sphere provides 2.3 million Americans with jobs and $ 229 billion salaries a year. Signers are warning: Copyright weakening will allow technological corporations “to use movies, TV shows, music, paintings and books” for teaching their algorithms for free, which threatens not only theaters, but all creative professions.
