The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that director Jeff Bahan, 47, husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, committed suicide.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of the sudden death of American director Jeff Baen, known for his works The Little Hours and If Your Girlfriend Is a Zombie, reports CNN.
The director was found dead by a housekeeper on January 3 at his home in Los Angeles. The autopsy results confirmed that Baen committed suicide. He is 47 years old.
The director’s wife, White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza, commented on the tragedy: “This is an incredible tragedy. We are truly grateful to everyone who has supported us. Please respect our privacy at this time. .”
Baen and Plaza have been in a relationship since 2011, and officially got married in 2021. They have worked together on several film projects. Due to a tragic event, Aubrey Plaza was unable to host the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on January 5th.
During the event, director Brady Corbett, who worked with Baen on the film Brutalist, paid tribute to his colleague: “My heart goes out to Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family tonight.”
It was previously reported that Jim Abrahams, an American director, producer and screenwriter, has died at the age of 80.
