The Doctor. Erik Jennings Simões was one of those honored in a special video by Pope Francis dedicated to healthcare professionals around the world.
The purpose of the special images, which show different profiles of people who contribute to the cause, is to give visibility to the working conditions of health professionals.
According to information released by Vatican News, the content brings as a prayer intention for the month of April the effort of these people who dedicate their lives to save the lives of others and that they are supported by governments and legal communities.
“The pandemic showed us the dedication, generosity of health professionals, volunteers, health workers, priests, men and women religious. But this pandemic has also made it clear that not everyone has access to a good public health system”, said in the narration.
In the video appears the story of Dr. Erik. The Brazilian doctor is responsible for taking care of the indigenous people of the Zo’é community, in northwest Pará, during the covid-19 pandemic.
