Panama’s Miss Universe representative, Italie Mora, missed out on competing for the title due to misconduct.
19-year-old Italie Mora, who represented Panama in the competition Miss Universe 2024could not continue the competition due to disqualification related to violation of the rules of conduct, reports Hello!
Organizers said the decision was made after careful consideration by the committee, but did not elaborate. According to Itali himself, the conflict arose due to the fact that he left his room alone, which, according to the organizers, was a violation of the requirements of the competition.
“The Disciplinary Committee, which is responsible for maintaining the integrity and values of the competition, conducted a full audit on this matter and, based on the information collected and analyzed, decided that the withdrawal from the competition is the most appropriate course of action in the current circumstances. It is important to note that we have accepted this decision with the utmost respect for all parties involved, our number one priority remains the well-being and transparency of all our participants, which shows diversity, talent and dedication,” the show said in a statement.
Mora added that he did not intend to break the rules and even posted an explanation on Instagram, which he later deleted. He considers his disqualification to be harsh and hopes that his privacy will be respected during this time. Italie also denied rumors of conflicts with other members or personal meetings that allegedly led to his dismissal.
Finally Miss Universe is scheduled for November 17 in Mexico, where Ukraine will be represented by 20-year-old Alina Ponomarenko along with participants from 130 countries.
It was previously reported that 80-year-old Choi Sun-hwa made history in the competition Miss Universe Korea as the oldest participant in the entire history of the competition.
