The show “King Lear”, which brings an innovative adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic work to the world of drag culture, has been widely acclaimed by both audiences and critics. The play will be on stage in free at Teatro Alfredo Mesquita, with performances from September 5th to 29th.
The story focuses on the King Learwho, upon deciding to divide his kingdom among his three daughters, faces unexpected consequences. One of them refuses to participate in the succession ritual, which provokes the king’s wrath. In an act of revengeLear expels her, which begins a process of disintegration of his domain and throws him into a deep state of madness.
Presentations are scheduled to take place from Thursday to Saturday, always at 9 pm, and on Sundays at 7 pm. Information about the event has been shared on social media, especially on the production’s official Instagram.
The tickets
It is worth mentioning that online reservations for sessions between September 5th and 15th are already sold out. However, tickets will be available for collection in person, which can be purchased at the theater box office one hour before each performance.
Additionally, on September 10th, the possibility of online reservations for tickets for the performances that will take place between September 19th and 29thallowing more people to experience this unique theatrical experience.
