LGBT+ collective wedding registrations open in Bahia

Queer community must fill out an online form available on the Court of Justice website

The Court of Justice of Bahia (TJ-BA) is accepting applications until Friday, the 23rd, for a collective civil wedding for LGBTQIA+ people. Called “Love in Colors”, the ceremony will be held on September 20th, on Avenida Afrânio Peixoto, in the neighborhood of Itacaranha, in the suburbs of Salvador.

Interested parties must fill out the online form available at TJ-BA website and submit the necessary documentation for registration. See the list below:
– Official document with photo and CPF;

– Updated proof of residence;

– Updated birth certificate (for single bride and groom);

– Updated marriage certificate with divorce endorsement (for divorced couples);

– Updated marriage certificate with death notice and death certificate of the deceased spouse (for widowed couples). It is not necessary for the death certificate to be updated.

Recognized in Brazil since 2013, through a resolution of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), ratified in 2020 by two decisions of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), LGBTQIA+ marriage can be performed in any civil registry office in the country.
