Ukrainian theater and film actor Andrei Valensky, who was seriously injured in the front, became a victim of scammers. He spoke about it on social networks.
The actor said that the untoward incident happened to him at night after he had taken painkillers and was getting ready for bed. That’s when he received a phone call from scammers who identified themselves as bank employees. The attackers stole 270 thousand hryvnias from the seriously injured actor, which was intended for surgery.
“Unfortunately, this world is also full of fraudsters, yesterday evening, after taking painkillers, when I was almost asleep, they called me on the phone, introduced themselves as Monobank employees, and they misled me to my own bank account. Funds are collected for plastic surgery, which may need to be done in the near future, and not wait up to six months for a free operation,” shared Valensky.
The actor has already asked law enforcement for help and provided them with the relevant evidence.
“The police have already visited me, I gave them all the screenshots and details, I hope Monobank will also help this situation, but, unfortunately, they cannot prevent this kind of fraud,” shared the actor.
