In 2022, Charles condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and expressed his support for Ukrainians fighting against the aggressor.
British King Charles III mentioned Ukraine in his speech at the opening of parliament. This is stated on the British government website.
In particular, the monarch outlined the priorities of the new Labor government in the coming months following the party’s victory in the general election in early July, and also expressed a strong commitment to Ukraine.
“My government will continue to provide full support to Ukraine and its people and strive to play a leading role in providing Ukraine with a clear path to NATO membership,” Charles III said.
The speech of the British sovereign also identified the main priorities within the country: economic growth, infrastructure development, education reform and improvement of the health care sector.
It was previously reported that Vladimir Zelensky met with the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Charles III, on July 18.
