The only LGBT+ reception center in the Central-West holds lectures, partnerships and events to mark the date
Pedro Matias, coordinator of Casa Rosa, leads several lectures throughout the month. On June 24th, he will be at the Banco do Brasil Foundation, followed by a presentation at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB). On June 25th, Matias will speak at Centro de Ensino Médio 02 in Sobradinho, and on June 26th, he will participate in an event on LGBTQIAPN+ citizenship at the Public Ministry of the Federal District. These lectures aim to raise public awareness about the importance of the date and publicize the actions and activities developed by Casa Rosa.
Representing Casa Rosa, Pedro Matias will also be present at the launch of the LGBTQIAPN+ policy monitoring committee within the scope of the Federal Government, which will take place on June 28th in Rio de Janeiro. This event is part of the “Be Yourself” festival, organized by the group TransRevolucion and Casa Nem. Casa Rosa will be alongside a delegation from the Ministry of Human Rights, reinforcing its commitment to defending and promoting LGBTQIAPN+ rights at a national level.
On June 13, during an LGBT+ seminar held at the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, Marcos Tavares, president of Casa Rosa, received a motion of praise in recognition of the significant work carried out by the institution. This recognition highlights the importance of Casa Rosa in promoting inclusion and support for LGBT+ people.
Casa Rosa also developed strategic partnerships with commercial establishments in Brasília to raise funds and promote the cause. On Saturdays, at Deboche Bar (CLN 201, Block A), 20% of the amounts consumed will go to Casa Rosa. The bar has prepared a special program, including “Drag Night” on June 22nd and performances by DJs such as Mike, Luísa Rodrigues and DJ Porn on June 29th. Furthermore, at Labarr Chocolates (SCRN 710/11 Block H), until June 30th, a limited edition chocolate bar is on sale, with 15% of the profits going to Casa Rosa.

“June, Pride Month, is a time of celebration, but also of reflecting and fighting for the LGBTQIAPN+ community. There is still much to be done, not only within the scope of Casa Rosa’s activities, but also in relation to public and affirmative policies. It is also crucial to remember that this awareness must occur not just in June, but throughout the year. The struggle is constant”, comments Pedro Matias.
