“We remember our historical trajectory and strengthen ourselves for the battles to come”
An icon of the community and always forceful and relevant, the deputy celebrated everyone’s presence by saying that “we formed a crowd dressed in the colors of our flags. From our community, and from our Brazil.”
Erika recalled that “we have reasons to wear these colors with pride: we are the biggest Parade in the world, full of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites, transsexuals, non-binary and intersex people, in a country that is an Indigenous Land and with the largest black population outside of Africa”.
“And today we fight for our rights, and we celebrate our achievements and our lives. We remember our historical trajectory and strengthen ourselves for the battles that will come so that the country is ours not only on the shirt, but also on the streets, on the avenues, in decision-making spaces and in politics.”
