Paris police questioned French actor Gerard Depardieu. After that, he was summoned to appear in court.
Gerard Depardieu will be tried on charges of sexual harassment on set. Euronews reported this.
The French actor will stand trial in October on charges of sexually assaulting two women on the set of a movie in 2021, prosecutors announced. This happened after the police detained the celebrity and questioned him on April 29, 2024.
“He will be tried for episodes of sexual violence that probably took place in September 2021 and caused harm to two victims on the set of the film Green Shutters,” the prosecutor’s office in Paris said.
In turn, Depardieu’s lawyer, Christian Saint-Palais, refused to comment to reporters, except that the actor is no longer in custody.
There was also a complaint to the artist about the events on the set of the 2014 film “The Wizard and the Siamese,” however, according to the newspaper Le Monde, the statement may have expired.
Gerard Depardieu considers himself innocent. The actor plans to fight the allegations.
It was previously reported that Emmanuel Macron came to the defense of actor Gerard Depardieu, who was accused of sexual assault.
