Private businesses in Ukraine can produce license plates. Special series of license plates with new letter combinations were prepared for them. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bogdan Drapyaty.
The production of license plates, according to Drapyaty, will promote competition in the market among different business entities. In addition, this service will be more convenient to obtain.
It will not be difficult to recognize license plates issued by private companies, because a completely new series is intended for them with the inscriptions OA, OV, OS, OE, OH, OI, OK, OM, UB , UC, AG, AJ, DB, NA. They were approved by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine No. 53 of January 30, 2024, and so far they have not been found in cars. This will make the process of assigning a combination of letters and numbers more transparent and reduce the risk of interference by officials.
“If a private company seeks to produce car license plates, it must submit the necessary documents to the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The application must be reviewed within 5 days and the company must to be notified of joining the Register of Business Entities. It should be noted that vehicle registration will continue to be carried out at service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.” , the official added.
