According to him, Alexandra’s chosen one is from Mariupol. He and his parents hid in a bomb shelter from Russian shelling until they could leave the occupied city.
“My daughter watched the movie with her boyfriend, who is from Mariupol. She and her parents hid in the basement of one of the houses for a few weeks before they left. She saw firsthand how her husband was killed neighbors,” the first lady shared.
Elena Zelenskaya also said that Alexandra and her boyfriend attended the premiere of the documentary film “20 days in Mariupol”, nominated for an Oscar.
The First Lady admitted that it was difficult for them to watch the film, because the man witnessed events that already traumatized him.
“I asked her how she got through it and she admitted that she cried. He cried too. And other people in the theater cried,” she said.
