The Russians accused the celebrity of aiding Ukraine, saying he was on the side of evil.
American actor Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the sci-fi epic Star Wars, responded to the accusation from the Russian Embassy in South Africa.
In particular, on page X (formerly Twitter) a post was published in which the celebrity was accused of going to the “dark side” due to the fact that he raised funds for 500 drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine .
“Last month, Mark Hamill sent 500 drones to Ukraine,” The Hill wrote. “Now look at Zelensky’s T-shirt in the picture. What does it say? “Come to the Dark Side.” How do you like that? Do you like it, Star Wars fans? Luke Skywalker has joined the dark side , “wrote Russian diplomats.
In this regard, Mark Hamill responded to their accusations and said that he was honored to be the ambassador of the United24 fundraising platform, which raises funds to support Ukraine in the war against Russia.
“Tell me you don’t know anything about Star Wars, without telling me you don’t know anything about Star Wars. Hint: the Ukrainian people are rebels, and you are the Evil Empire. The Russians didn’t get it the mark again, but thanks for trying! PS: I am honored to answer the call of President Vladimir Zelensky to be a drone ambassador to protect his country from your criminal aggression,” he wrote.
Hey @EmbassyRussia- tell me you don’t understand #StarWars without telling me you don’t understand #StarWars. 🇷🇺
(hint: the Ukrainians are the Rebels-YOU are the Evil Empire)Swing and a miss Russian, but thanks for playing! 🙏
