Eurovision will take place in May 2024 in Malmo. The grand final will be held on Saturday 11 May.
On Sunday, February 4, the results of the national selection were broadcast on Eurovision. This year the duet Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil became the official representative of Ukraine.
The performers received the highest number of points in the voting of the judges and the audience. Specifically, they got 10 points from the jury and 11 points from the audience, giving them a total of 21 points.
When the winners were announced, Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona couldn’t hold back their emotions and tears of happiness. To the surprise of the two, Ukrainians cast 723,297 votes for them.
Therefore, during their performance, the performers expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for what they can do in a free country, as well as to all the fans who supported them on the way to their goal.
“We will represent Ukraine in Eurovision 2024. More than 720 thousand votes for us! It’s amazing! We lost all the words from the feelings of gratitude! As we said on air, Ukrainian music is already a part of European culture! Our task is to make the Ukrainian song sound! It sounds steady! Thanks for helping us do this! And we thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thanks to which we have the opportunity to create and live in a free country! Thank you so much for your support!” they wrote to the performer in a general message on Instagram.
It was previously reported that Luxembourg will participate in the song competition for the first time in 31 years Eurovision.
