Representative Erika Hilton called out the lack of quotas for trans people in CNU notices
The federal deputy Erika Hilton spoke out against the lack of quotas for trans people in the registration notices for the Unified National Competition (CNU), known as “Enem dos Concursos”.
The project aims to restore Brazilian public service, after a 10-year delay in admissions.
The lack of quotas for transgender people bothered the deputy, who spoke out on her profile on a social network.
“Our objective is explicit: for Brazil to have the courage to take this step towards the future. Trans people deserve dignified work and there is nothing better than that than starting, as soon as possible, their inclusion, via competition, in public service federal”she said.
Erika enlisted the help of LGBTQIA+ organizations and, together, they sent a letter to the Ministries of Management and Innovation and Labor and Employment.
“We sent a joint letter to the Ministries of Management and Innovation and Labor and Employment, led by Esther Dweck and Luiz Marinho, requesting explanations and demanding an emergency meeting to address the issue — among others of utmost importance for the dignity of trans and transvestite people” , said the deputy.
