There is no information yet on how much such displays might cost or when this technology will appear in retail devices.
Samsung has unveiled the world’s first transparent MicroLED display. The presentation took place at the First Look event during the CES technology exhibition in Las Vegas. Engadget writes about it.
Three screens with different designs are shown. Two of them have tinted glass that hides things behind the screen, the third is completely transparent and frameless.
Two demos used tinted glass, allowing any potential objects behind the panels to be ignored. Another option looks just as clear as regular glass, but with a frameless design.
Displaying content on transparent MicroLED panels looks like a hologram floating in the air.
“Because transparent MicroLED displays have a higher brightness than transparent OLED panels, they are also less affected by ambient light,” said a Samsung spokesperson.
We remind you that the Russian Federation has banned the sale of more than 60 models of Samsung smartphones.
