An American graphic designer used his skills to make his dream come true.
31-year-old Washington resident Manda Hansen spent more than $35,000 to turn her home into a home for a Barbie doll. The Mirror reported this.
Specifically, the woman said that while her family was happy with the neutral gray home decor, she found the environment “boring”, so the graphic designer used her skills to transform her place.
Manda has made no secret that she has always been obsessed with the color pink and the Barbie aesthetic, which can be seen in her old home, which she bought when she was 20 years old – all Barbie pink from the outside.
When she and her husband bought their house in 2017, she felt the need to make more “grown-up” decisions about decor and placement, so the couple initially stuck to a more neutral style. Although her family and friends liked the traditional interior design, Manda felt that it did not match her inner character.
Therefore, the American decided to radically change the interior, returning to the Barbie aesthetic. “I started with pink walls and girly decor,” she said, adding that she doesn’t regret her decision.
“The first place I started was my kitchen. It was the first room I wallpapered, and I was obsessed with how it transformed the space,” says Hudsen. Later she added pink appliances and other decor that blended beautifully with the floral walls. It cost the woman about 3 thousand dollars.
The next room to undergo a transformation is the living room. The American covered the walls with shiny panels, turning the space into a huge disco ball. She also added a pink sparkly piano, colorful chairs and a rug. It cost him $5,000 in renovations.
And the last feature Manda added to her home was her back garden, where she created a hot pink pool, pink house and cheerful pink and white checkered floor, creating a “Barbie summer oasis” at a total cost of approximately $13,000.
The couple spent more than $35,000 to create the real-life dollhouse.
