Tourists who booked tickets to access the 134-year-old monument were told it was closed and would be contacted by email.
The Eiffel Tower is closed to visitors. The reason was a staff strike. The Guardian reported this.
The workers accuse the management company of neglecting technical support and repairing the tower.
They warn that if these problems are not addressed, the tower could be completely closed to tourists by the time the Olympic Games open in Paris in 2024.
The strike took place on December 27, the centenary day after the death of the monument’s creator, engineer Gustave Eiffel.
We remind you that a fragment of the Eiffel Tower was sold at auction in Paris.
