Nina Matvienko died on October 8. Farewell to the artist took place on October 11 at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
Ukrainian singer Tonya Matvienko spoke for the first time about the illness of her mother, Nina Mitrofanovna, who died in October of this year.
As the singer said in an interview with Viva! magazine, the diagnosis, announced by doctors in August, came as a shock to the entire family. As it turned out, the People’s Artist of Ukraine had been suffering from cancer for four years.
“On August 8, at some point, he started to feel bad – his stomach hurt – and the ambulance took him to the hospital. It was a shock for everyone. How is this – a person who is energetic, everything is muscular. the his life, does not drink, does not smoke, until the end of his life he runs on the steps – and this can happen. The doctor said that Nina Mitrofanovna has been sick for about 4 years. For him it is also surprising. He is afraid of dying from this disease. We did not leave him alone in the hospital. All my relatives, they come every day. They change positions, keep watch close to him, walk with him, he was taken to the yard… And exactly two months later, on October 8, this happened,” she said.
That is why Tonya Matvienko calls on people to undergo a full body examination every year, because if the disease is detected in the early stages, it can be cured.
“I want everyone to hear, especially those over 40 years old: be sure to do preventive examinations with doctors and undergo a medical check-up once a year. After all, at an early stage it can be stopped and can you will live for many more years,” he urged the performer.
Earlier it was reported that the musician Arsen Mirzoyan for the first time named the cause of death of the legendary singer Nina Matvienko.
